Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda, on the edge of the western Rift Valley and covers an area of over 330 sq kms with an altitude range of 1,160 metres to 2607 metres. This park is home to over 350 species of birds, 202 species of butterflies, and 120 species of mammals that include about 340 Mountain Gorillas which is roughly half of the estimated population; there are also chimpanzees, elephants and a wide range of monkeys
