Job purpose

At MW Tours, the Wholesale Tour Consultants provides an intermediary service between travel agents, clients and suppliers to plan our prearranged or individual tours to our main destination in Africa, Asia and Subcontinent. These services may range from straightforward tasks such as booking direct flights to coordinating entire tour experiences including itineraries, accommodation, transport, flights, day tours and much more.

Duties and responsibilities

The following is the primary job duties and responsibilities related to this role. Your tasks will include;

  • Administration Support – travel documentation  and other support
  • Liaising with clients in person, over the phone or via other channels (such as webchat, email,Salesforce etc) to discuss their travel requirements.
  • Advising clients on suitable options for our tour packages – which may include, international flights, accommodation, local activities, transport and insurance (but not limited to)
  • Preparing customised itineraries to suit the clients’ preferences and budget.
  • Making and confirming bookings, via multiple systems (such as GDS, CRM or via personalised contact methods)
  • Issuing tickets or relevant documents.
  • Providing up-to-date advice on travel regulations, , safety and local customs.
  • Modifying existing bookings to suit a change in clients’ circumstances.
  • Researching destinations and keeping up to date with travel industry news.
  • Ongoing training with other team members and management.

 

Qualifications

The following are the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job. These are the qualifications that are necessary for someone to be considered for the position.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum 2 year’s experience in the Travel Industry
  • GDS knowledge
  • Sufficient knowledge & Intermediate skill of Microsoft Products (such as Outlook, Excel, Word etc)
  • Specialized or Travel knowledge of at least 2 of the following: Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, India,  Sri Lanka, Philippines, South Africa & East Africa
  • Strong Sales & Customer Service Skills with a proven history
  • High Attention to detail
  • Strong communication both oral & written
  • Initiative & Strategic Thinker with an analytical approach
  • Team Player
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills

Working conditions

This job may require a person to work in special working conditions. Special working conditions cover a range of circumstances from;

  • working with challenging clients
  • attending tourism/supplier events before, during & after work, at nearby venues
  • attending before & after work training sessions
  • Participating overseas educational trips
  • Work in a fast past fun environment
