Dali is located on a fertille plain between the Cangshan Mountain range and Erhai Lake, at an altitude of 2000m, and served as the connection between Lijiang and Kunming on the Southern Silk Road. With such a long history from the Bai and Yi groups, Dali is one of the oldest cultural birthplaces in Yunnan with many historical and cultural sites to explore.
