Kumano Kodo Self Guided Walk

Kumano Kodo Self Guided Walk is a 4-day guided short-stay experience exploring Takijiri to Hongu. The program is designed to introduce the destination through a practical mix of guided sightseeing, local experiences and well-planned travel between each stop. Traditional accommodation, local breakfasts, 5 local dinners. Train Tickets, maps, directions and local phone support.

We have created a range of shorter packages that are perfect for all situations. Tour highlights include hike the ridge of Takahara and overnight in Japanes Minshuku; walk to the Kumano Shrine; yunomine Onsen, natural hot pring and enjoy a delicious feast for dinner; visit Shingu and view the more than 1000yr old Nagi Tree. The day-by-day itinerary moves from Arrive Kyoto/Osaka – Takijiri – Takahara through Takahara – Chikatsuyu through Hongu – Depart Kyoto/Osaka, giving the journey a clear sense of progression while allowing time to appreciate the character of each place.
