Seeing the peak of Mount Fuji rising above the clouds is a sight you will never forget. A UNESCO World Heritage listed site, this active volcano is the highest mountain in Japan, and the subject of many popular souvenirs and artworks. Predominantly snow-capped, the majestic mountain can be spotted from the air, from your seat on the famous high speed rail, Shinkansen, and from cable cars on the Hakone Ropeway. To see Mount Fuji up close and personal is an unforgettable experience, so we recommend travelling up the mountain to the 5th Station (the highest of the five stations, at 2400m above sea level).
