Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are met with a warm KARIBU — Swahili for welcome — and transferred to your lodge at the base of Mount Meru. The drive passes fertile farmland, village life, and towering acacia trees that signal your arrival in East Africa. The afternoon is yours to unwind after your journey. Relax in the gardens, enjoy a swim, or simply take in the tropical surroundings as hornbills and colobus monkeys move through the trees. As evening falls, gather for your first dinner under the African sky. The air is warm, the pace slows, and the anticipation builds — tomorrow, the safari begins. OVERNIGHT: ARUMERU RIVER LODGE OR SIMILAR

After breakfast, transfer to Arusha Airport for your scenic charter flight into the Serengeti ecosystem. Flying over the Great Rift Valley and volcanic highlands, the scale of Tanzania begins to unfold beneath you. Landing at Ikoma Airstrip is a true bush arrival — a remote runway surrounded by wilderness in every direction. You are welcomed by your safari team and transferred into Grumeti Hills, a private concession bordering the Serengeti. In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive. Elephants, giraffes, zebras, and big cats may all appear within hours — your first taste of the wild. Lodge: GRUMETI HILLS OR SIMILAR

Wake early for a guided walking safari with an armed ranger. On foot, the bush becomes intimate and alive in a different way — animal tracks, birdsong, and the subtle details of the landscape come into focus. This is safari at its most personal. A bush breakfast is served beside the Grumeti River before returning to camp for rest and leisure. Later, enjoy time at your own pace or head out on another game drive. After sunset, a night drive reveals the hidden world of the bush — nocturnal predators, glowing eyes, and the sounds of Africa after dark.

Today you enter the legendary Serengeti National Park. As the landscape opens into endless grasslands, the meaning of *SERENGETI* — “THE PLACE WHERE THE LAND RUNS ON FOREVER” — becomes immediately clear. Game viewing begins as you enter the park. Lions rest under acacia trees, elephants move across the plains, and vast herds of wildlife stretch toward the horizon. A picnic lunch is enjoyed in the bush before continuing deeper into the park.
