The wall is a series of fortifications that have been built since the 7 BC with its main purpose as protection and defence from invaders. Stretching 21, 196.18 km is globally recognised as most of the most impressive architectural feats in building history. The most well preserved are at Badling and Matinanyu which are a 2 hour drive away from Beijing.
